Nio's new Onvo L60 SUV, designed to compete with the Tesla Model Y, has just rolled off the production line. This all-electric vehicle, priced around $30,800, offers a range of up to 345 miles and is set to challenge the Model Y in China.
The Onvo L60 bears a strong resemblance to the Tesla Model Y, but Nio claims it surpasses the Model Y in both technology and quality. A unique feature of the Onvo L60 is its battery-swapping capability, allowing drivers to quickly replace their battery instead of waiting for it to charge, which some see as a more convenient option.
Sales for the Onvo L60 are scheduled to officially begin in September, with deliveries expected to start about a week later.
The Tesla Model Y remains a top contender in the global electric vehicle market, inspiring other automakers to launch their own competitors, like Renault's Scenic E-Tech SUV. However, Tesla isn’t backing down and is set to release an updated version of the Model Y, known as the Juniper, which is already generating buzz during testing.
