Volvo plans to accelerate sales of the EX30

Nov 7, 2024

Volvo Cars is expediting U.S. deliveries of its most affordable electric model, the EX30, after an initial launch delay. Originally scheduled for summer 2023, sales were pushed back to 2025 due to shifts in the global auto industry. Volvo now plans to start delivering to customers with reservations in December. The EX30, an electric crossover manufactured in China, will also expand production to Belgium next year to meet demand in both the U.S. and European markets.

For the initial U.S. launch, Volvo will offer only the EX30 Twin Motor Performance model. A single-motor version will become available once production begins in Belgium in September 2025. U.S. dealerships will receive demonstration models, but Volvo’s primary focus remains on fulfilling existing reservations.

Volvo is aiming to strengthen its position in the U.S. market, with the EX30 positioned to attract millennial and Gen Z consumers.
