The New GMC Sierra EV Offers Lower Price and More Features

Oct 24, 2024

While some electric vehicles (EVs) make a big splash when they enter the market, the GMC Sierra EV quietly began its journey. Following a limited release of the first model, the Sierra EV is gearing up to launch its second version. The new electric pickup will be available in 2025, featuring a lower price and additional features.

The electric pickup market has been growing slowly, as traditional pickup buyers remain cautious about electric options. Tesla’s Cybertruck has seen strong sales, but many of its buyers are first-time pickup truck owners, making this their initial foray into the segment.

With this market dynamic in mind, GMC initially introduced the Sierra EV as a premium model. The 2024 launch featured the high-end Denali Edition 1, priced at over $100,000.

For 2025, GMC is adjusting its strategy by introducing two new trims: Denali Extended Range and Denali Max Range. Both models will offer quick charging capabilities, allowing them to travel 100 miles with just 10 minutes on a Level 3 public charger.

GMC also plans to expand the Sierra EV lineup in the first half of next year by adding the Elevation and AT4 models, which will provide customers with more options and enhanced off-road capabilities.
