Geely Automobile released detailed information about its new compact all-electric SUV, the Galaxy E5, which is expected to launch in August with an estimated price range of 130,000 to 170,000 yuan.
The Galaxy E5 is equipped with the advanced Galaxy 11-in-1 intelligent electric drive system, which combines 11 essential components, including the motor, controller, and reducer, into a compact unit with a volume of just 72 liters and a weight of 79.8 kg. This system achieves an impressive efficiency of 90.04% and a low electricity consumption of 11.9 kWh per 100 km.
Powered by the Infineon TC397 chip, the drive system ensures high communication efficiency and rapid power response. The Galaxy E5 also benefits from Geely's GEA architecture and proprietary technologies, providing excellent vehicle balance and minimizing common electric vehicle discomforts. Its four-stage intelligent energy recovery system adjusts braking force based on vehicle distance, traffic conditions, and road slope, ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride.
The SUV also features Geely's G-TCS all-weather traction control system, which adjusts torque output based on road surface conditions to maintain optimal grip. With R&H virtual calibration technology, the Galaxy E5 has undergone over 10,000 calibration iterations for precise tuning, and the CTB battery-body integration technology offers a balanced 50:50 front-to-rear axle load ratio, contributing to a lower center of gravity.
Design-wise, the Galaxy E5 showcases a tiger-face biomimetic design, complete with striking LED headlights and C-shaped daytime running lights inspired by tiger whiskers. Inside, it features a traditional layout with a floating central control screen, digital instrument panel, and HUD, all powered by the Flyme Auto system and SiEngine’s 7nm automotive-grade chip, SE1000. The SUV measures 4,615 mm in length, 1,901 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm.
The Galaxy E5’s motor delivers a maximum output of 160 kW and offers two battery options: 49.52 kWh and 60.22 kWh, both using Geely's Aegis battery technology, providing a CLTC-rated range of 440 km and 530 km, respectively.
