BYD has just introduced its new 2025 Seal EV, a fully electric car that competes directly with Tesla’s Model 3 but at a much lower price. Starting at just under $25,000 in China, the 2025 Seal EV is nearly $10,000 cheaper than Tesla's Model 3.

This new car comes after Tesla launched the Model 3 Highland in China last year. BYD is now responding with this updated Seal EV for 2025. The car is built on BYD’s improved e-Platform 3.0 Evo, which means it has better range, more power, faster charging, and advanced driving features.

BYD first showed off the new Seal EV earlier this month, highlighting some changes like a new LiDAR system on the roof, which helps with advanced driving assistance. They’ve also replaced their usual "Build Your Dreams" badge on the back with a bold red "BYD" logo, similar to what Tesla did with its Model 3.

Inside the car, BYD has introduced a new "Coral Orange" color option. The Seal EV’s interior has more physical buttons and knobs than the Model 3, and it features a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen. The car’s size is very similar to the Model 3, so you’re getting a comparable vehicle in terms of space.
