Ferrari, the iconic Italian luxury sports car manufacturer, has announced plans to release its first fully electric vehicle (EV) in 2026. This marks a bold step forward for the company, which is renowned for its high-performance gasoline-powered supercars, as it ventures into the electric mobility market.

The upcoming EV will maintain Ferrari’s core values of luxury, speed, and cutting-edge performance, while embracing the growing global trend toward electrification. Ferrari’s entry into the electric vehicle space is part of its strategy to meet stricter environmental regulations, while also appealing to a new generation of environmentally-conscious consumers.

Ferrari’s CEO, Benedetto Vigna, emphasized that the new electric model will not compromise on the brand's DNA.

“Our first EV will deliver the exhilarating driving experience Ferrari is known for, while also meeting the future demand for sustainable and clean energy solutions,” - he said.

While specific details about the EV remain under wraps, it is expected to feature state-of-the-art battery technology, exceptional range, and innovative design that stays true to Ferrari’s distinct aesthetic and engineering prowess. The company also plans to continue developing hybrid models alongside its new EV, blending the best of both worlds.
